The Riyadh Action Agenda is a landmark platform, launched at UNCCD COP16 in Riyadh in December 2024, by the UNCCD COP16 Presidency, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Developed in consultation with more than 400 subject experts, and gathering 180+ hours of feedback from more than 300 non-state actors in multi-stakeholder dialogues at UNCCD COP16, the Riyadh Action Agenda advances pledges under the Riyadh Global Drought Resilience Partnership and other initiatives.

It enhances capacity, mobilizes finance, and promotes practical solutions aligned with UNCCD objectives and targets. It strengthens synergies across the Rio Conventions, recognizing that tackling land degradation through restoration and resilience addresses the climate and biodiversity crises, while advancing the SDGs.
